Semi-Marathon d'Andenne: Pacing the City of Bears

Documenting this half-marathon required adapting to two completely different environments and shifting weather conditions. The morning began in the heart of the quartier historique du Chapitre during a heavy rainstorm. Photographing on this narrow street presented a real environmental challenge: I had to carefully frame my shots to isolate the runners from parked vehicles and urban clutter, all while utilizing the slick, wet asphalt to capture dynamic reflections. As the skies cleared, I relocated to the finish line at the local athletics track of the Andenne Bears stadium. There, the technical focus shifted to capturing the raw, unfiltered emotion of the final stride—documenting the pure exhaustion, the triumphant celebrations, and the deep camaraderie of the athletes as they crossed the line.
